Midday robbery at Discovery Expeditions

Two days after police spoke of their new crime fighting strategy thieves proved that they were not deterred by the warning cops sounded. Today just before midday three thieves armed with guns busted the office of Discovery Expeditions on Manatee Drive in the Coral Grove area. News Five understands that the first robber to enter the business establishment was a former collection agent of Buca Shell, who is familiar with Discovery. Because he is known to the business, when he showed up at Discovery’s door he was allowed inside. Once inside he attacked the employee that opened the door, pushed her to the floor, making way for the two other accomplices to enter. While the employees were held up, the jackers stole all the company’s petty cash along with personal items belonging to the customers and employees. The amount of money stolen is still not known. But by this evening police had already apprehended a suspect and were looking for the other two. They were also taking statements from the staff members and proprietor, David Gegg.
