Telemedia director says connection offer made to Smart

On the high handed disconnection late last week of Smart’s international services which affected its ninety thousand subscribers, Director Carla Barnett said that an offer has been made to SMART.

“And the offer that we made to them was something like this—BTL is offering to terminate your calls. We will make ten cents a minute on whatever the call from the carrier is. So, if I understand it rightly, the technicians are taking today about implementing that and in fact they’ve gone so far as to offer to put that service in place even before we have a formal agreement—it’s through an exchange and letters and signing that we will negotiate a proper agreement.”
