Naybaz Store in Belmopan is Robbed by Armed Thieves

Over the weekend in Belmopan, a pair of thieves robbed a Naybaz Store in the San Martin area of the city. According to police, one person entered the business at first, robbed the proprietor of an undisclosed sum of cash, before being joined by another individual who aided in robbing the patrons of the establishment.

“On Saturday, November 11th, 2023, around ten p.m., Rebecca Cal, of San Martin area, Belmopan, reported that she was inside her store, namely Naybaz Store when a male person entered the establishment and got a beer from the cooler. The person came to where she was, at which point the male person pulled out a firearm and demanded money and other items. Shortly thereafter, a second male person entered and they proceeded to rob the customers and stole an amount of cash along with cell phones and other valuables. The male persons jumped on a motorcycle and they fled off from the area. We do not have any suspect at this time.”

“Sir, this may be the second or third Naybaz Store robbed in recent months, are you looking at maybe that there is some kind of trend happening here.”

“Well this is the first one in Belmopan and the other incident was a burglary that happened in Ladyville. And so yes, there are different reports that occurred in two separate districts.”
