Fire Destroys Two Structures in Belize City
There was a fire in Belize City this morning that completely destroyed a pair of wooden structures in the vicinity of Arlington Drive. One of the structures was the home of Marlon Usher, a construction worker who had already left for work when the structures went up in flames. News Five spoke with Usher’s mother who explained what transpired around eight a.m. today.

“This maanin when I wake, I hyah lotta noise out ya and da that wake me. Soh a dreg down di window and when I dreg down di window, ah sih lotta smoke. Ah neva know da mi son house, but then at the same time a di get up and come out ya and a hyah di people dehn weh done deh out ya di seh da Fang bun down, because we call ahn Tiny. Dehn call mi son Tiny from ih mi baby cause ih mi premature. Soh that da di lee name weh we give ahn. Soh dehn seh da Fang bun down Tiny house. Soh I seh, “Oh my God” and when I come out ya I get fi realize now that da mih lee bwai house gaan down to nothing and he da wahn person weh dah wahn working person. He noh stay home, all eena rain ih boss cohn way ya cohn pick up ahn dehn go goh work and he work everyday and he got ih lee house deh weh he goh eena and go sleep he do construction.
