Domestic Dispute Leads to Belize City Woman being Assaulted

Forty-one-year-old Camilah Montes was physically assaulted during a domestic dispute in the early hours of this morning.  According to police, Montes was struck in the face with a piece of wood, causing a large cut wound to her forehead.

“On Tuesday, November 21st, 2023, police responded to a report that a female was injured at Western Avenue here in Belize City found Camilah Montes, forty-one years old, with a large cut wound to the forehead.  She was taken to the KHMH for treatment.  She remains at the KHMH in a stable condition at this time.  Information is that she was along with a male person and they had some sort of dispute after which the male person hit her on the head with a piece of board.  This person is now in custody and we are following up on this investigation.

“Yes, that is what we are getting, it was some sort of domestic.”
