Regarding the transition of various government departments and ministries from B.T.L. to SMART’s telephone service, Chairman Mark Lizarraga, assured that the loss of these accounts has not significantly impacted the company’s overall performance. Lizarraga views this shift as an opportunity for B.T.L. to enhance its competitiveness.
Mark Lizarraga, Chairman, B.T.L. Board of Directors
“We have lost I believe a couple of accounts. Not, not substantial and what it has done, it has forced us to focus on being competitive, which is healthy. And we have focused on, on, on putting bundles together that are attractive for, for people. Our revenues have increased, as a matter of fact, um, we do continue to do a lot of business with the government of Belize, as a matter of fact, they may be one of our largest. But as individual ministries have been tasked as well to save money in their own ministries, we have to compete. So that is the reality. And we have been competing, I must say. So, um, we’ve lost minimal business.”
