Oscar Selgado to Learn his Fate on December 23rd

Defense attorney Oscar Selgado will learn his fate on December sixth, following an adjournment in the High Court this morning. The well-known criminal lawyer, is being tried for his alleged role in a foiled plot to have Marilyn Barnes killed. In that regard, Selgado was charged for aiding and abetting the commission of murder. The incident which dates back to July 2019, has been widely covered in the media. The proceedings against Selgado are being conducted in the courtroom of Justice Nigel Pilgrim.  When last we covered the trial on November twenty-third, oral submissions with respect to a voir dire were being heard. The aim was to ascertain the court’s reliance on a statement given by Giovanni Ramirez, the individual who alleges that Selgado attempted to hire him to carry out the assignment on Barnes. The case against Selgado is being prosecuted by Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lyn Vidal.
