Police Impound Van and Look for Heritage Bank ATM Thieves
On Friday, the managers and employees of Heritage Bank woke up to discover that thieves had targeted two of their ATM’s – one in Belize City and another at a location on the Bullet Tree Road in San Ignacio. While the thieves were unsuccessful at removing the machine or taking any of the money from that location in Cayo, those in Belize City were able to make off with the entire machine and all the money, believed to be roughly a hundred thousand dollars in cash. Camera footage showed how they pulled off the burglary, using a vehicle and a chain fastened to the machine. Today, A.C.P Romero said the police have the van the thieves used and they are now looking for the culprits.
