Two Policemen Stabbed While Walking in San Pedro
Two policemen were attacked and stabbed while walking in San Pedro early this morning. Police say that, shortly after midnight, the two officers were walking near the corner of Laguna Drive and Spider Lily Street in the vicinity of the San Pedro High School, heading towards the police barracks when they were attacked. The assailant, described as a slim built, Hispanic man with short hair and dressed in a striped purple t-shirt and a pair of black shorts, reportedly cursed the policemen and then stabbed them, before running off.
As a result, thirty-five-year-old Edwin Reid suffered knife wounds to his left elbow, and left thigh, and remains admitted in a stable condition under observation. The other officer, thirty-two-year-old Kerian Mena, suffered a stab wound to the right side of his chest and another to the right upper side of the back. Luckily, the wounds were mostly superficial and Mena was treated and released. His wounds were classified as wounding.
