Accused Murder Nimrod Tillett Faces Extradition to Mexico
Earlier today, the Chief Magistrate granted a warrant of apprehension for the arrest of Nimrod Tillett, as well as an application for his extradition proceedings to begin. Tillett, who has been accused of committing two murders in Belize, is also wanted in Mexico for a similar capital offense. It is alleged that he killed a female companion in Quintana Roo in 2019, and disposed of her body in a garbage bin. The incident was reportedly captured on surveillance footage. The Orange Walk resident appeared unrepresented in the lower court where he was served with a bundle of evidence comprised of one hundred and fifty pages that the crown is relying on at the extradition hearing. Tillett, who was shot and left for dead in Corozal several months ago, has been further remanded to the Belize Central Prison until January twenty-ninth, 2024.
