Police Officers Who Escorted Escaped Prisoner to Be Charged

Accused murderer, Hildebrandt Codd remains at large after he escaped along with Jesse Mejia through a window in an adjoining room to the Courtroom Number Three where they were scheduled to appear on Tuesday. Codd, who was supposed to hear his verdict for the 2019 murder of Densmore Bowman, and Mejia, who is to face trial for the 2018 murders of Marlon Spain and Casey Lozano, had other plans than court matters and made a dash for freedom. Mejia was captured later that evening, but Codd is still on the run and is described as being a danger to the public. Today, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hilberto Romero told the media that the police who were assigned to that courtroom that day are to blame for the escape.

“In the case with the incident at the Supreme Court, these officers have been placed on charge and they will be dealt with because we found negligence on their behalf in regards to this escape. We are seeking the public’s assistance to help us to locate this person. If anyone sees him, you can call 911 or 922 tips and give the information. We will act upon the information.  We have several checkpoints countrywide and several operations continue to be carried to try and capture him, but so far he has not been captured.”
