Cashier brings in the New Year with employer’s cash

A cashier at the Caye Caulker branch of Bowen and Bowen Company Limited is in big trouble tonight after he admitted to using company money for personal business. The manager of the distribution centre told police that he discovered over six thousand five hundred dollars short when he was balancing his sales receipts on New Year’s Eve. He said that when he checked with the cashier, he admitted that he had used the money to pay for a loan. The cashier also promised to pay back the money today, but has not. Police are about to file charges against the cashier whose name is being withheld pending charges.
