Two Men are Wanted for Albert Valentine’s Murder
On Tuesday morning, here in Belize City, a deadly shooting claimed the life of twenty-nine-year-old Albert Valentine. The victim was no stranger to the law and has a record of involvement in gang activity. Tonight, police are looking for two suspects whom they believe perpetrated the violent act on Valentine as he left from a shop on Antelope Street Extension. It is reported that when he arrived at the corners of Elston Kerr and Iguana streets, he was accosted by a pair of men, one of whom produced a handgun and opened fire on Valentine. Belize City police are beefing up their presence in the area to prevent any reprisal for the Valentine’s murder. This afternoon, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams shared a few details from the ongoing investigation.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“Yesterday morning, around 7:30 a.m., police were called to the area of corners Elston Kerr and Antelope Street. Upon arrival, they saw the lifeless body of a male person who was identified as Albert Valentine. He was transported to the KHMH where he was pronounced dead on arrival. At this time police information is revealing that two male persons on bicycle approached the deceased and they fired shots at him, causing his fatal injury. We are looking at two suspects at this time. We are hoping that they would be able to locate those persons and bring some closure to this matter.”

“Is this related to the shooting he survived in Punta Gorda some years ago?”

“Well, you know, Albert Valentine has been somewhat of a freelance in the gang world. He was originally an affiliate of Rocky Road and then he went to SSG, then he went to Bone Yard, then he went to this one and that one. And so, he has been more of a freelancer and when you have a person who is a freelancer in the gang world that certainly is a recipe for disaster. So we believe that that is what led to his murder. Like I said, we have two suspects we are looking at and we are also monitoring the extension area to be able to avoid any possible retaliation.”
