PM Confident He Has Nothing To Answer to in Senate Inquiry
While the media had his attention, one reporter asked the Prime Minister if he will attend the Senate Select Committee’s Special Inquiry should he be summoned to testify. The PM, who had said that calling him would be a waste of time, said assuredly again that there’s nothing for him to answer to because he did nothing that brings him into question.
Prime Minister John Briceño
“It depends on what is it that they want, but I will repeat again: there’s nothing to answer. I don’t know what we can tell them. We’ve been very open, we’ve been very clear. Our government got the agreement. It was already signed. I took it to Cabinet, which is what I am compelled to do, and 15 minutes later I said, listen, we can’t proceed with this, and it ends there. There’s nothing for us to – and the Cabinet Secretary has already written to the Commission stating that.”
