Life Sentences for Convicted Paguada Brothers
Life sentences were handed down to brothers Tionne and Delson Paguada earlier today after they were jointly convicted of the murder of Paul Jex in San Pedro in January 2018. This morning, the siblings appeared under heavy police guard in the High Court chamber of Justice Nigel Pilgrim where they were convicted and condemned to no less than twenty-one years in prison. Following an incident in July of this year when there was an uproar from the brothers upon leaving the court after being found guilty, both inmates were escorted by as many as nine heavily armed GI3 officers. Before calculating a fixed sentence, Justice Pilgrim heard mitigation pleas on behalf of the brothers. Nonetheless, it was not an easy decision for the High Court judge who had to consider the fact that Delson was nineteen years old at the time that the crime was committed. His younger brother, Tionne, was only fifteen at the time. After considering those factors, a fixed term of thirty years in prison was handed.
