Security at Crystal Auto Rental is Shot On Xmas Eve
A reward of a thousand dollars is being offered by Crime Stoppers Belize to anyone who can assist investigators in arresting a pair of suspects, following a robbery at Crystal Auto Rental on December twenty-fourth. On Christmas Eve two men showed up at the car lot inquiring about a vehicle. When fifty-three-year-old Elmer Francisco, a caretaker on the property, responded, he was met with gunfire. ACP Hilberto Romero provides additional details on the incident.

“On Sunday, December twenty-fourth, 2023, around 4:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting at Crystal Auto Rental, near the Haulover Bridge. There, they found Elmer Francisco, fifty-three years old, caretaker, who reported that he was on duty at the time when two persons arrived on a motorcycle. They inquired about a vehicle and thereafter, one of the male persons pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot towards him, causing an injury to him. Elmer Francisco was taken to the KHMH where he was treated and has since been released. We are seeking two suspects in regards to this shooting.”

“Yes, we have some security footage and we are looking at that.”

“We do not know. Again, the male persons asked for a vehicle and at some point that was when he was shot.”
