Grandmother busted with marijuana in her purse
A fifty-one year old grandmother found herself in the courtroom of Magistrate Aretha Ford today. Gloria Murillo, a domestic of St. Martin De Porres in Belize City, was charged for Possession of Marijuana. Police on patrol visited the Marina section of the Princess Hotel and searched Murillo. When they frisked her and searched her purse, they found twenty-eight point three grams of marijuana inside. The granny had a good excuse as to why there was cannabis in her purse. She said she found it on the street. When she was asked why she kept it, Murillo says she had a daughter who needed food, so she intended to sell it. Murillo pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency. She told the magistrate that she would never do it again, but still she was fined eight hundred dollars. If she does not pay the fine by January thirty-first 2010, she will have to serve eight months in jail.
