Another Highway Fatality, Three Days Into The Year
Today, at least one life was claimed in a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on mile twenty-two of the George Price highway. Around one p.m., a driver was traveling northbound on the highway in a rented vehicle when he noticed a green SUV approaching from the opposite direction. The SUV, which carried a taxi license plate, reportedly drifted into the wrong lane and proceeded to swerve off the road in order to avoid a collision. While the driver of the rental vehicle swerved to avoid a collision, the taxi had flipped over, injuring several passengers inside. While it is unconfirmed how many people were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, it is confirmed that at least one person has died. That person was the man behind the wheel of the vehicle, local taxi driver, Sydney Collins, who died on the spot after he was crushed by the vehicle. The vehicle was taken into police custody where it is still being investigated. Police are awaiting further updates.
