He stabbed a cop… and now he’s in prison
A man, who has been under police guard at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for eighteen days, finally appeared before a Magistrate this evening. Twenty-four year old Zane Godoy of Independence Village is charged with the Attempted Murder of Constable Pedro Pech, one count of Dangerous Harm and one count of Use of Deadly Means of Harm. Pech alleges that around midnight on November twenty-ninth he saw Godoy slashing his car tires outside a nightclub on Main Street. When he rushed over to Godoy, he was stabbed on his chest with a dagger. But what happened next is the reason for Godoy’s hospitalization. Pech said he drew his licensed service weapon and shot him in the upper right leg. Due to the nature of the offense, Godoy was remanded into custody until January fifteenth when he will appear in the Dangriga Magistrate Court. Godoy was convicted two years ago for a burglary and was fined six thousand dollars.
