Teen takes the rap for illegal drugs and ammunition

Story PicturePolice say they made a bust at a Belama home on Tuesday, which turned up a black plastic bag with cannabis and fifty live rounds of point thirty-two caliber bullets. According to police, they also found an identification card belonging to Los Lagos resident, Hosni Thurston. The female tenant of the Belama home and three men were charged for the crime today. Alicia Sosa, along with Thurston, Lloyd Jones and David Flowers all appeared before Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb-McKenzie this morning. The four defendants were charged with Keeping Unlicensed Ammunition while Jones, Flowers and Sosa were additionally charged with Drug Trafficking for seventy eight point four grams of cannabis. Flowers took the rap for the entire group and pleaded guilty to the ammunition charge and possession simplicita instead of drug trafficking. His attorney, Michael Peyrefitte, told the court that he was requesting leniency for Flowers because he is only nineteen years old and that the teen found the bullets and intended to sell them, not to use them. While the Chief Magistrate noted his young age, she the minimum sentence of two years and eighteen months for the Drug Possession to run concurrently.
