Customers win big at Belize Bank
And there were four lucky winners today in the Belize Bank’s second of three raffles at its Market Square office downtown. They scored big, taking home a variety of household appliances and cash prizes just in time for Christmas. It’s all a part of the bank’s annual promotional period, which this year is aimed at encouraging people to take advantage of the consumer loans program. News Five found out who walked away with the prizes.
Gustavo Waight, Asst Manager, Belize Bank, Belize City Branch
“We started on September fifth; that’s all the branches countrywide and we just concluded on December the twelfth, which was last Saturday. Everybody who got a loan participated in the raffle. To every thousand dollars that you borrowed, you got one raffle ticket. Those raffle tickets will remain in there until next year March the tenth when we have the final raffle under this promotion.”
Shantel Awe, Marketing Department, Belize Bank
“This morning the first place Whirlpool washer and dryer will be taken home by Russel Anderson of Jasmine Street in Belize City. The second prize, which is actually a GE stove was by Carlos Rejon of Tate Street, we believe that’s in Orange Walk. The third prize is an appliance package by Josue Carballo of Orange Walk. The fourth consolation prize of five hundred dollars was by Jose Guerra of Belize City and the fifth five hundred dollars by Ricky Perano of San Pedro Town. Those were the lucky winners in this morning’s raffle.”

We go through a promotional period usually form September to December and this year the prizes that have been won were one of that promotional things that we do that is done every year. I’m not sure how long we’ve done it but it’s over ten years I’m sure.”

“We would just like to congratulate the winners once again and from the management and staff of the Belize Bank, we’d like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
The first draw was in August, where seven persons took home cash and prizes.
