U.D.P. Issues Statement on Rape Allegations

As we reported on Tuesday, at the center of this latest sex scandal is an attorney-at-law who is well known within the United Democratic Party.  He ran for the U.D.P. as a candidate in the last general elections.  Earlier today, the party issued a release acknowledging the report against the former politician, stating, “the party takes the allegation of rape extremely serious; we condemn any act of violence against women and empathize with all victims.  The party reveres the rule of law which protects the rights of the accusers to seek justice, as well as the due process rights of the accused.  The party trusts the DPP will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation as she arrives at her determination of this matter”.
