Protestors speak out against Boledo contract with Brads

Story PictureThe Leader of the Opposition was not the only one questioning the privatization of the Boledo. Outside the National Assembly Building, a group protested saying that their livelihood would be shattered by the new system that is set to be implemented in April of next year.

Alfita Chan, Protestor
“At least we sell our lee bit and then put it with that and if dehn put it to sell another kind of lottery, maybe dehn wah give job to Chinese, only to them because the Chinese don’t give job to any people. Only he they sell the lottery and that man Mister Contreras give at least the books for make we could do and we could eat. I heard that when sell it bring a next kind and anytime the people win, they will take fifteen percent from the people who win and that I think no good.”

Eliodoro Orellano, Protestor
“We are here because we have been selling lottery for many years and now they are planning to privatize it in March or April. And from what I hear, they will sell Boledo by way of electronic machines, the way they sell lotto. So automatically we will lose our jobs. How will we be able to maintain our families and educate our children? It’s necessary for us to keep our jobs and have the opportunity to work.”
