Opposition Leader Predicts U.D.P. Winning Atleast Five Municipalities in March

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

Barrow was also asked how many municipalities he believes the United Democratic Party will win on March sixth. He answered while criticising P.U.P. municipal bodies across the country for their increased investments in infrastructural upgrades weeks before the upcoming municipal elections.

Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition

“It does not work. It did not work in various instances for UDP and PUP. I have far more confidence in the Belizean people. People will not suffer for three years and then you come around ninety days before the elections and they take that light? They will look at you and say alright thanks, appreciate it. Alright, and you will see election that. I reject that notion and to be fair, has it worked over the last three years, before this ninety day period? Has that synchronicity?”

“It is a completely dysfunctional relationship.”

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

“But more so than ever, because other administration, PUP and UDP, maybe it has not been optimal.”

Reporter

“Look at the case in Belmopan.”

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

“Have you ever seen a more dysfunctional relationship between local and central government?”

Reporter

“It is outstanding.”

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

“You say that for your sound bite because you gave a PUP narrative sound bite.”

Reporter

“Voters vote in their own interest.”

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

“And their own interest is to get rid of the PUP cancer because that is the only way a message will be sent to central government that they need to tighten up. That is what is in the interest of the voters.”

Reporter

“In view of that, how many municipalities will the UDP win?”

Moses “Shyne” Barrow

“No less than five municipalities as many as seven, I believe we can have seats in all nine municipalities.”
