ComPol: “I Am Not the One Who Will Decide”
Since the allegations have surfaced, Hot Off the Press, a Facebook platform that reports primarily on incidents of news, has gone on the offensive in an obvious attempt to discredit the credibility of the alleged rape victims. The page has gone ahead to even post surveillance video taken from inside the establishment where the alleged victims and the accused met two weekends ago. It has also made derogatory and suggestive comments about the character of the women. Today we asked Williams, himself an attorney at law; whether he thinks those posts could prejudice the case for the accusers.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“I don’t want to say yes, I don’t want to say no. Rape are matters that are heard by a jury. If it is that the attorney is to be charged, And the matter goes before the court. It is going to be heard by a jury. I don’t know if those potential juries would be influenced by what they may have seen in the public discourse. That’s a matter yet to be seen, so I cannot say.”

“Sir, you have a personal relationship with the person who has accused you of a law, your classmate of his in law school. Do you think that in this case you should have recused yourself from the investigation?”
Chester Williams
“Am I conducting investigation? I’m not. I don’t know what you’re speaking about me recusing myself. I have nothing to do with investigation. The investigators recorded the statements. They communicate with the DPP. And as I’ve said before, the D the matter is for the DPP. I’m not going to be the one to determine if or not the attorney gets charged and I don’t know why you say we have a personal relationship. I have been attacked numerous occasions by that attorney.”
