Jasmine Hartin Returns to Court in Belize
Jasmine Hartin was back in court today where she is being represented by a new attorney in a matter involving drug and assault charges that she picked up a while back when she was busted with 0.5 grams of cocaine. As we’ve reported, Hartin pleaded not guilty to manslaughter by negligence in the shooting death of Sergeant Henry Jemmott in 2021. When she appeared in the lower court earlier today, she was accompanied by attorney Arthur Saldivar who spoke with following the session.
Arthur Saldivar, Attorney-at-law
“Ms. Hartin appeared in court to answer to the charges that were levied against her given that there was a change in venue, and a change in prosecutor and also a change in attorney. There was need for the court to furnish us with notes of evidence. We should have that by the next adjourn date or sometime prior to the next adjourn date which is March. So we can actually have this matter be concluded at some point.

“Okay, so the adjournment was granted because the new attorney needs to be update.”
Arthur Saldivar
“New attorney, new prosecutor and new venue.”

“What about the security that she had to put today, why was that a must today?”
Arthur Saldivar
“Well, the security is in respect of her appearances considering that Ms. Hartin has legal obligations in terms of her flights to visit her children outside the jurisdiction. So with that being the case, the court wanted to ensure that there was an incentive for her to return.”
