The charges arose in late 2021 after a drug plane landed on the Southern Highway in Bladen Village, Toledo. And today, the case for the Bladen Twelve, referring to the four interdicted police officers and others who are charged in connection with the incident, was again adjourned. The Senior Magistrate who is presiding over the matter commenced the Case Management Conference for interdicted Police Corporal, George Ferguson.  The twelve men are from various parts of Belize, and include four members of the Belize Police Department, and others of the Mennonite Community. Aside from Ferguson, the other interdicted officers are: accused murderer in the Ramnarace triple homicide in Belmopan, Elmer Nah, Delwin Casimiro, and Nelson Middleton. The civilians charged are: Adonis Campos, Efrain Cano, Armando Martinez, Moises Adan Perez, Juan Esparza Sanchez, Heinrich Redecop, Johan Wall, and Fredy Orlando Gongora. They are charged jointly with two counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, one count of conspiracy to land a plane at an unlicensed aerodrome, and one count of abetment of the importation of a controlled drug. It is alleged that the group was found in possession of over seven hundred and sixty-three kilograms of cocaine for the purpose of supplying it to another person or persons for drug trafficking, and five assault rifles, one of which belonged to the police department. In late 2023, George Ferguson was read additional charges for possession of prohibited ammunitions; kept ammunitions without a gun license and possession of prohibited firearm. Attorney representing the men are Richard “Dickie” Bradley; Leroy Bradley, Oscar Selgado and Lyndon Jones, however,  only Bradley and Selgado were present in court today as Selgado held briefly for attorney Leroy Banner and Lyndon Jones.
