Gun Malfunctions During Attempted Shooting
Two men escaped injury and possibly worse only because the gun that was used to carry out the attack on them malfunctioned. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero said today that the incident happened on East Canal during a business transaction. Romero added that the police have already rounded up their suspect – a man who has a history of crime – and laid charges against him.
A.C.P. Hilberto Romero, Regional Commander, Eastern Division
“On Friday, the 26th of January, 2024, Norman Grant and Norris Patnett reported that they were on East Canal doing some business when a male person came and pointed a firearm at them and attempted to fire at them, but the gun snapped. Thereafter, the male person ran away. An investigation was carried out, and we have since detained Jahiel Craig, 20 years, and he has since been charged for two counts of aggravated assault.”
