Electrical Student Electrocuted While Doing Repair Job

Terel Matura

A young father lost his life on Saturday after he went on a job to carry out an electrical repair. Twenty-three-year-old Terel Matura, an electrical student, left his girlfriend’s house in Burrell Boom to go and do the repair at a residence at Mile eight off the George Price Highway. But he didn’t return from a routine job that he has done numerous times before. And on Saturday afternoon when his family got the distressing call that he was electrocuted on the job, they wanted answers. Today, the police department provided limited information on the incident in the West Lake area of the Mile eight residential community.

“A complainant there reported that she had hired Terel Matura, 23 years [old], to do some electrical work, and he went up into the ceiling to do repairs. Shortly thereafter, she heard a scream and then she did not hear any other sound. She then climbed up the ladder to check on him and saw him gasping for air and unable to move. Assistance was sought and he was taken to the K.H.M.H for treatment, but he passed away shortly thereafter.”
