FSTV manager hopes suspensions will be lifted by Tuesday
Despite the disagreement and the financial cost yesterday, Nisbet says the actions taken were necessary and he is hopeful that when the next cruise ship docks, each and every tour guide, who works on the compound, will have a clear understanding of what they are permitted to do and not do.
James Nisbet
“Everybody has had a chance to let emotions settle down and now we need to get to the policies and modifying the policies if we have to and having everybody understand what the ramifications are for breaking rules.”

“Have they lost money?”
James Nisbet
“I can’t speak to that. Everybody pretty much had lost money that day, Thursday or potential for losing money. They’re supposed to be on a rotation system. Like I said, there are many things in place that need to be understood and tweet, if I can use that word for it. But there is a potential to have made some money yesterday and they were allowed access to the village as per normal, just not operating off the docks. Without getting into specifics, that‘s another issue that I need to make sure that I have the docks base cleared for the free flow of passengers. They were free to operate from anywhere, literally, from outside the gates, from on the streets downtown, anywhere because they are taxi guys, tour guides and they have a valid tour operator’s license, they can do that. I didn’t stop them from being tour guides for that day, just not within the Tourism Village.”

“Come Tuesday all of this will have been resolved?”
James Nisbet
“I am very optimistic that all of the issues should be sorted out by then.
