Grace Kennedy releases Creative Cooking calendar

Story PictureWe last heard of them for missing monies and even though it is well into January, today Grace Kennedy Limited launched its 2009 calendar entitled, Creative Cooking. It carries twelve recipes from Belizean cooks who use Grace Products. Senior Product Line Supervisor, Victor Guerrero, told us what criteria the recipes needed to satisfy.

Victor Guerrero, Senior Prod. Line Supervisor, Grace Kennedy Ltd.
“We are very proud of the calendar we’ve done today; it’s a total hundred percent Belizean calendar. Early last year we asked for submission of recipes from Belizeans and we asked people to think outside the box. We didn’t want the traditional rice and beans, chicken and salad type of mentality to the recipes so we ask them to be creative, original and make their submissions and it was very difficult because we got some very good recipes. But we came up with these twelve. It was designed in Belize, it was printed in Belize. So we have truly one hundred percent authentic Belizean Calendar. One of the keys that we have for coming up with the good recipes was easy of preparation. We wanted the recipe to be somebody who is the traditional housewife, for instance, just looking at the recipe and say “oh yeah, I can do that”. It had to be, like I said, ease of preparation and in this tough economic times, it had to be something that was cost effective as well. We can’t have a recipe that’s gonna cost you thirty dollars per dish, that just wouldn’t cut it. So that was another factor as well. And then just the quality of the final product that comes out.”

The design of the calendar was done by Dolphin Productions and the printing was done by the Angelus Press. The calendar is free and available only at Grace Kennedy Limited offices located on the northern highway.
