Customs officers reinstated after missing container debacle
Two of three customs officers who were accused of being involved in shady business two years ago have been reinstated. The men, Rudolph Williams and Steve Young, were transferred from the Customs Department after a container was diverted and its contents went missing. The empty container was later found abandoned on the Coastal Road. Williams and Young were brought before the Public Services Commission along with the third officer, Raul Cawich. The men, through their legal representative, Godfrey Smith, appealed to the Belize Advisory Council who has now reinstated Young and Williams. Cawich, however, has been dismissed from his duties.
