Gambis’ family, who live on Supal Street on Southside Belize City, has its own version. His mother, Enid, told News Five today that she was at home when several police officers burst into the property inquiring on the whereabouts of her son and accused her of covering up for him. Enid Williams is also standing by her son and says that the fourteen year old boy is lying about Gambis.

Duane Moody

“What is Keon’s relation to the woman and the fourteen year old? Does he know him?”

Enid Williams

“Yes he knew them. Di lee bwai was friend with Gambis. Noh only Gambis di lee bwai hang out wid. Di lee bwai hang out wid other else man and all. The mother needs to look into it with ih son, sit down wid ah and question ih son and stop di bring out false allegations against people.”

Duane Moody

“Bail was denied to him and he was suppose to be remanded at the Hattieville prison until March second. What happened there? How is he out and not in custody?”

Enid Williams

“Well, that I cannot comment on that because I don’t know anything about that and I wasn’t at the court with Gambis. I noh  know mi deh dah court wid him but I wasn’t at the court with Gambis. And from this thing started with police and they seh Gambis come out I don’t even see Gambis.”

Duane Moody

“So where is Keon now? Where is he?”

Enid Williams

“Well all I know, dehn she dat dehn chase ah inna di yard here dah Supal Street.”

Duane Moody

“There is information that he did make payment for a bail. Where is this all coming from? If it is not so, where is Keon?”

Enid Williams

“Well he shoulda mi get wah bail through Supreme Court but I don’t know what happened. I don’t know nothing about that so I cannot comment on that. I’m not defending my son, because like I tell you if he has done wrong, he should be served by the law. If Gambis is guilty with that little boy, then the court should prove him guilty or not guilty and if he guilty, he should pay for what he have done.”
