Tek it or Leave it’s 6th contestant wins thousands
The game offers the audience a chance to win thousands of dollars in cash!… And that was exactly what the sixth contestant to play Channel Five’s first ever game show, Tek It or Leave It did last week. The mother of four and customer service representative of Ready Call Centre played a fierce game at Wednesday’s recording. Cleta Novelo wowed the crowd and gave the banker a run for her money in taking the largest amount of money ever to be won on the show. The crowd was energized and at the end of the show, Novelo walked away with thousands. She says her background in mathematics helped her win.

“What was your strategy going into the game?”

“My strategy was like more or less to pick children’s birthdays, date of births, family, friends and just to try to take away the smaller amounts using mathematicians, maths, numbers to take away divide, multiply. Those are my strategies that I went in with to the game.”

“And was that successful for you?”
Cleta Novelo
“Well it paid off pretty well because then I was looking at the board and trying to add and divide, doing averages, doing percentage and so that paid off for me pretty well.”

“What was going through your head when you were doing all this?”
Cleta Novelo
“I was thinking and excited, confused a little, but looking at my children and my family members I choose side with them and take some of the audience advises.”

“You took a risk and at the end of the day it paid off. What are you going to do with your winnings?”
Cleta Novelo
“More or less, I’m gonna deposit it in the bank and go in to see what they can assist me with in building a home. So that is my biggest treasure and then spend some with my children—split at least one thousand with my children and my father. It was his birthday so that was his birthday gift.”
