Man charged with attempted murder after reporting shootout
P.G. police have one person in custody and are looking for another in connection with a crossfire that occurred in the early afternoon of January thirteenth. On January fourteenth, twenty-three year old Ryan Gonzalez told police that around one on Tuesday afternoon, he and two friends were sitting on the street side of Jose Maria Nunez Street when Ashton Martin approached them, took out a nine millimetre pistol and pointed it at him. Fearing for his life, he ran away, but Martin allegedly waited for him at the corner of the street and where he opened fire at him. What Gonzalez failed to tell police, however, is that he was strapped with a weapon which he pulled out and responded with some shots. No one was injured and police have since arrested and charged Gonzalez for the crimes of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault. Police say they intend to also charge Martin with the same offences.
