“Mary’s Story” encore to at the Bliss Saturday night

Story PictureThere’s a show this Saturday night that you can’t miss at the Bliss. It’s a production by the Trinity Assembly of God and church members who will be showing up their versatility in the two-hour show entitled, Mary’s Story: A New Perspective. In collaboration with NICH; the church will present a musical show that captures Mary’s birth of Jesus through dance, acting and singing. According to writer and director, Faye Davis, the reception of the show last December and the growing demand for a repeat, motivated them to an encore presentation. Davis told us more…

Faye Davis, Writer & Director, Mary’s Story
“Every year we do the Christmas Story of Jesus being born but we’re doing it from Mary’s perspective, the mother of Jesus and how she must have felt being a young girl with this huge responsibility laid forth on her. We’re inviting the public to come and see it again—for those who got to see it and for those who didn’t get to see it to come.”

“How did this come about?”

Faye Davis
“Well the church we’re affiliated with is Trinity Assembly of God. It’s a church that’s big on the arts, using drama and dancing and you know acting; everything together in one. So Mary’s story is actually as we’ve said is a musical so we’re going to see people dancing, singing acting all in one to bring forth this one story.”

Duane Moody
“Who are the people that you’re targeting?”

Faye Davis
“We’re targeting the general public. Everybody needs to see this story. It’s not something for only Christians or… it’s for the public. It was actually scheduled for two nights, tonight, Friday night, and tomorrow night, but because of the weather we have cancelled it for tonight and we’re only doing it for tomorrow night. So we’re asking people who’ve bought tickets for Friday night to just come and bring those tickets Saturday night and you can use those tickets.”

Funds raised from the event will be used to purchase various items needed for the church.
