Guatemalan labourer found with Mayan Artifacts
It’s not often you hear of the charge of ‘failure to produce license to possess or have in custody or control any ancient monument or antiquity. Today, a Guatemalan labourer was charged with this offense. On January twelfth, fifty-nine year old Carlos Alex Betancourt, of Nargusta Street, Orange Walk Town, was discovered with a plastic bag containing nine suspected Mayan artifacts. Betancourt was detained and escorted to the police station and on Tuesday, the Archaeological Department in Belize examined and authenticated the artifacts.
