Could accident have been set up by robbers?

A traffic accident in Hattieville on Saturday night could have been the work of thieves using all sorts of ways to catch their unsuspecting prey. Dennis Wright says he encountered a boulder on the middle of the highway as he headed to Belize City. A blackout plunged the area into darkness and Wright was one of two unsuspecting victims that ran over the huge rock. The bottom of his vehicle was destroyed and Wright is distressed over the damages to his van which he says is not covered by his insurance and he will have to bear the financial burden on his own. All be told, Wright says he is just relieved to have survived because the accident could have easily been fatal.

“I was coming from Sittee River—that’s way down the southern highway—and upon reaching Hattieville around a curve, there was another coming vehicle and saw a white stuff inna my part ah di road. I went from high beam to low beam so I could give the other driver access to the road and when I conscious it was a big rock I could do nothing, I was right upon the rock already.

It make me bruk almost everything underneath mi car, total underneath ah mi vehicle and almost run me inna wah ditch. Nobody got hurt but there was another vehicle that hit the rock and his bumper was broken off and his face pan so all his oil leaked out of his car as well. Most naturally ih looked like somebody wanted to rob a vehicle. Somebody needs—two people have to be moving that size rock and big rocks like that don’t fall out of trucks cause they’re heavy enough.”

“Well, ih definitely total underneath my vehicle, which includes transmission mound.”
