Western Union customers win cash inauguration of new office

Remittances from abroad are a main source of income for many families. And in variably, Western Union provides the facility for the transfer of money to Belize. The money exchange company months ago moved to Coney Drive, but today it inaugurated its new headquarters at an impressive building on this part of town. There were many winners in today’s event and one took home the big prize of ten thousand dollars. Customers from across the country participated in the cash raffle and in the company’s 2009 Loyalty program. News Five was there when the lucky winner was chosen.

Vanessa Peyrefitte, Marketing and Public Relations Officer

“Hilda Flores, she won the grand prize, the ten thousand dollars. Every time they send or receive money using Western Union, they got the chance to win one of three five hundred dollar cash prizes that we had monthly. If they didn’t win that, their tickets stayed in the barrel and they got the chance today to win the grand prize which was ten thousand dollars or some of the other prizes we had, which included a one year free subscription to C.B.C. cable, a cell phone package and also a free ticket to the continental United States or Central America. We inaugurated our facilities today. It’s true that we have been here for couple months now but not everything was in place yet. You know when you’re a bit anxious to move and not everything as set. With the months that we’ve been here, we have finalized everything and we felt that today we were definitely ready to do an official inauguration of our new location. So that’s what we did today as well.”

Ruth Vargas won the cell phone package while Wei Lang took home the cable package and Jerome Williams won the airline tickets.
