BlissfulSage, CareBelize, Palliative Fndn hold charity dinner

Story PictureIf you would like to support a worthy cause and have a good time while you’re doing it, then this coming Friday night there is an opportunity. CareBelize, the Belize Palliative Association and BlissfulSage Foundation have joined up for Bandaid, a dinner with live music and a silent auction. Raquel Battle, President of the Blissful Sage Foundation, explained how attending the event at Old Belize will assist many in need.

Raquel Battle, President BlissfulSage Bandaid
“This is the Bandaid Ball. And Palliative Association, Care Belize as well as the BlissfulSage Foundation will benefit. Like I said, the Bandaid means something different for each of the organizations. For CareBelize it means providing walkers, wheelchairs, transportation for these children in these communities and educational resources. For Belize Palliative Association, what it means for them primarily at this stage in the infancy of their organization is to be able to purchase refurbished oxygen tanks, or new oxygen tanks in order to help their patients that they assist in their home. Many of these patients don’t have water, they don’t have electricity; the basic needs that we need in order to survive. They need bandages, they need literally bandaids and palliative cream and that kind of thing to help to support their organization to help it to get off the ground. At this stage for the BlissfulSage Foundation, we need financial resources in order to acquire property to build that hospice care center. And we have been working on that for the past three years.”

The event will be at Old Belize on Friday January sixteenth from seven p.m. until midnight. Musical accompaniment will be by Jackie Castillo and the Belize Jazz Band. Tickets can be bought from any of the sponsor organizations.
