Safiyyah scouts out the weekend entertainment spots
The weekend is here and that means that Safiyyah has been scouting around for fun activities. Dust off your dancing shoes because there are many bashes around the town and elsewhere and she found out that the Mexican Institute is hosting a travelling showcase of foreign films.
Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize?
Tonight Heineken music will be having their Old School Splash inside the Brown Sugar Market Place. This party will feature DJ Busch, DJ Aaron and DJ Motion. The doors will open at ten p.m. and there will be plenty of cool competitions and great giveaways. The general admission is fifteen dollars but if you come in groups of four you pay only ten dollars.
On Saturday from eight a.m. to one p.m. there will be a yard sale held at the St Joseph School Yard. There will be lots of goodies on sale like clothing, shoes and even household items. They will even have snacks, drinks and pastries on sale as well. So go out and get some great deals and support a worthy cause.
Also tomorrow if you’re a dancer and you want to be a part of the Courts Dance off competition, then you should head over to the bliss on Saturday morning at ten a.m. and check out the first round of auditions. The first actual competition will be held on the twenty-fourth of October.
On Saturday night in Cayo, the Storks Club will be having an 80’s night. They are inviting everyone who wants to take a trip back to yester year to come out and have a great time. So boogie on down to the Storks club in San Ignacio.
Also in Cayo on Saturday night the Cayo Emergency Response Rescue Team will be having a dance in order to raise much needed funds. This rescue team was formed after the floods last year and is trying to raise funds in order to buy much needed equipment. The old school dance will be held inside the Machal River Park and will run from nine p.m. until three am.
And down south on Saturday night a dance will be held inside Malibu night club called Old to the New featuring the King of the Park DJ Busch and also DJ Dynasty. There will be lots of giveaways including the DJ Busch Mix CD.
The Embassy of Mexico is inviting the general public to the “Mexican Film Festival 2009” This film festival will run from the nineteenth until the twenty-second at seven p.m. each night at the Institute of Mexico on Newtown barracks. The entrance is free and there will be four films shown. So go out and enjoy.
Also Look out on the thirty-first of October for Bobby Chin’s Birthday bash which will feature Bugle and Belize’s very own Tanya Carter. This bash will held at the Princess pool side and will feature Black Chiney as well. I will give you more info on that later on.
