Mother needs $2 million for son’s operation
The plight of a Belize City young man has gone international and tonight his mother is pleading for assistance for her son who is in the United States undergoing a string of surgeries to remove a tumor. Twenty-one year old Belize City resident, Christopher Bowman, has been battling with a very large and growing tumor that is spreading to his heart for the past eleven years. The family’s woes are complicated by the medical condition of Bowman’s mother, Odessa Orosco. Orosco says Bowman was the bread winner of the family and that the ten surgeries he has to take will cost roughly two million dollars. Bowman’s interview will be featured on CBS tonight.

“It’s not a surgery to cut… it’s procedures because the fifth of November I got an email addressed from mark, telling me that the beauty is that they don’t have to burst open the chest; they’re gonna put him under and they are going to go in and shrink the tumor because it’s a tumor right—it’s not cancerous. The tumor is bleeding a lot and bleeds all the blood in the vessels them and my son swell from here to here and at the back. And when you look at him, when you look at the back and here, there are the blood vessels have lots and lots of blood in it and then we try to go and touch it, it hurts. Me myself scared of touching him right. At night Christopher use to sleep with her on the floor, at night when I get up to go to the bathroom I study have to take a look at him to see if he’s breathing because doctor Cuellar fold me one time that when Christopher went to get a CTC, doctor Cuellar explain to me and tell me that the tumor is making way for his heart. It already pushed through the meat and ih di push through to ih heart. So I woulda really want dah thing get out ah he right because ih di punish ah wah lot because Christopher can’t sleep straight.”
