Fisherman back in court for aggravated assault
And Ivan Jones, a nineteen year old fisherman who was out on bail for a burglary charge he received two weeks ago, did not learn from that experience. On December first, 2008, Jones allegedly broke into the house of his neighbor, sixty-four year old taxi driver Fidencio Vasquez and stole several items. Jones was back in court today for a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. This time, however, the court could not offer Jones bail. Magistrate Albert Hoare remanded him into custody until February fourth. The incident occurred around seven-thirty a.m. on Wednesday. Andy Forbes reported to police that he was riding his bicycle on Barrack Road in the company of a young woman who was walking beside him when Jones, also on his bicycle, rode towards him. Forbes said Jones took out a pistol and pointed it at him and that fearing for his life, he rode away in a hurry.
