One charged with attempted murder of ex-prison warden
In other crime news, police are currently looking for twenty year old Clifford “Bebe” Flores in connection with a shooting incident that occurred around seven-thirty Saturday morning. Twenty-three year old Wayne Rocke said that on January third, he was riding his bicycle on Caesar Ridge Road and was approached by Flores who got off his bike, pulled out a nine millimeter pistol from his pants and fired about fifteen shots at him. Rocke was swift enough to dodge the bullets and escaped without being hurt.
And while police are looking for Flores, they have made an arrest with another recent shooting incident. Twenty-two year old Osman Mitchell of Sibun Street has been formally arrested and charged for shooting thirty-seven year old ex-prison warden, Marion Henkis. Today, Mitchell was charged with Attempted Murder, Wounding and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. The incident occurred about six p.m. on Monday when Henkis was shot by one of two gunmen who were riding in front of her home at forty-two Regent Street West in Belize City. Henkis was lucky that the bullet missed her torso but penetrated her arm. Police were quick to arrest Mitchell, who was charged previously with the Aggravated Assault of Kareem Grant. Mitchell’s accomplice is still on the lam.
