James Gerou finally appears in court

Story PictureJames Gerou, the fourth of five persons named in the laundering of over one point five million dollars cash was finally charged today. The thirty-seven year old American National pleaded not guilty to the charge and despite the objection to bail by the prosecution, Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie released him on a bail of fifty thousand dollars. Gerou also had to surrender his travel documents to the court and only with special permission would he be able to leave the country. Gerou is scheduled to return to court on February fourth. On New Year’s Eve, Gerou along with his common-law-wife, Melonie Coye, Coye’s parents; Michael and Marlene, and brother, Jude Coye were busted at their home on Johnson Street with over a million dollars cash inside a suitcase which was stashed in one of the bedrooms.
