Family of battered teen wants justice

Carlos Zelaya Jr.

Carlos and Sarli Zelaya say their son has been dating Gough’s daughter for the past two years and that he was well acquainted with her family.  It is alleged that the neighbor saw Carlos Jr. hopping Gough’s back fence minutes before the doctor arrived home.  Both men then pursued Zelaya and proceeded to assault him.  His family is seeking justice as it is believed that Carlos Jr. was beaten for no apparent reason.

“I’m looking for the police to look into this matter real carefully and for them to please charge these people for the brutal action that they did to my son. Dr. John Gough and the neighbor they need to get charged for this, for this brutal act.  I don’t know what’s happening here, what’s going on in our country.  What’s going to happen to our youths in this country?  No one seems to care, you go to the police department nothing is being done please I’m calling out for help.”

Isani Cayetano

“Did your son at any point in time express to you that there was a problem with him and his girlfriend or there was a problem with him and Dr. John Gough prior to this incident?”

Carlos Zelaya Sr.

“Not at all, not all.  That’s why I’m totally confused myself I have questions myself.”

Attorney Kareem Musa is offering advice to the Zelaya family and when we checked, we were told that Dr. Gough was unavailable for comment today as he is currently out of the country. We’ll get his side of the story when he returns.
