Two homes burglarized on New Years eve

Story PictureThere are two home burglaries to report. Leslie Sanchez and Troy Foreman had a stream of bad luck coming their way as before a traffic accident, their home in Los Lagos was burglarized on New Years eve. The burglars gained access through the rear part of their home. Sanchez says that when she and her boyfriend reached home at around seven-thirty on the night of the thirty-first, they were shocked to find that her home was burglarized.

“I went, I put on the TV to finish watch the news and my boyfriend was feeding the dog. When he went to the back of the house to clean up the yard, that is when he noticed that six louvers were missing out of one of the windows at the back of the house. After he saw that he hollered for me and I went out to see what was the matter and then I started to look around the house to see what was missing. We had a computer valued about four thousand dollars that went, a PS2 game that we just bought valued at about six hundred dollars, and about seven hundred dollars in jewelry.”

“Is it believed that they were more than one burglars who entered your home?”

“I would think so and for some reason I feel like a female was involved because a lot of my personal stuff went. I had a bag with lone personal items that I took when I went to my friends wedding so that I could get dressed at my mom, and that bag with everything went. Then another bag that I had in the room that I normally take for overnight, that went too and somewhat I believe a female was involved and maybe a guy. I believe the person who did it were monitoring us.”

According to Sanchez, neighbours were not at home when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, a woman brought in the New Year with the news that her home was also burglarized. Forty-six year old Victoria Moss of Victoria Street in Belize City told police that between ten forty-five p.m. on the thirty-first and twelve-ten a.m. on the first, someone broke into her home. The thief or thieves stole jewelry, seven hundred U.S., and four thousand dollars in Belize currency, a combined value of over eleven thousand dollars. The culprits gained entry into the residence by damaging a door on the southern side of the building. Police have detained one person pending further investigation.
