In welcoming 2009, Belize and Belizeans will be saying goodbye to an outgoing drama-filled twelve months. Grenades were thrown, a new government was sworn in, there were countless crimes including ninety-seven murders and several high profile arrests, two bouts of widespread flooding and enough political controversy to last several years.
