Minor charged with Boxing Day murder
A minor appeared in Family Court today and was slapped with charges of Murder and Attempted Murder following a shooting in the early hours of Boxing Day at the Princess Hotel and Casino on Newtown Barracks. The fifteen year old is accused of the murder of twenty-nine year old Jermaine Trapp and the attempted murder of eighteen year old Cameron Blease. On arraignment he was additionally charged with Dangerous Harm and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. The minor was denied bail and was remanded in custody until February eleventh, 2009. No stranger to the law, the boy was recently released from Boot Camp on bail for a charge of Attempted Murder. According to reports, Blease and the boy had an altercation at the Princess. The minor is said to have asked Blease if he had his gun on him and that Blease replied in the affirmative. In return, Blease also asked the minor if he had his gun to which the boy replied yes. Blease then said that the better person will win. When Blease and Trapp exited the hotel later, they were met by gunfire. Trapp succumbed and Blease is reported to be in coma at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
