Brandon Taylor gets six months for shooting at cops

Story PictureTwenty-two year old Brandon Taylor was today convicted for aggravated assault and damage to property. The incident occurred on October fourth, 2007 on King Street. Taylor was accused of shooting five times at three police officers on duty. In his defense in court, Taylor testified under oath that at the time, he was at home and only heard about the shooting after it happened. He claimed that his attorney, Dickie Bradley, took him to the police station to hand himself in. But he later implicated himself in cross-examination. Only two of the three officers gave testimony in court and at the end of the trial, Senior Magistrate Dorothy Flowers sentenced Taylor to six months in prison for aggravated assault and three months for damage to property. Both are to run concurrently. Taylor is presently on remand for the May second, 2009 attempted robbery of Western Union office on Regent Street where a security guard was killed.
